  • 2 cups of cottage cheese (low-fat)
  • 1 cup of banana (frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon of brandy

How To Make Banana Cottage Cheese Ice Cream

To make this delicious low calorie banana cottage cheese ice cream, simply add the banana, cottage cheese, honey and vanilla to a high-speed blender and blend until extra creamy. You want to make sure your ice cream is extra smooth so I recommend blending for an extra minute.

Transfer your cream into a lined tray or a bowl with a lid and freeze for one hour. Remove from the freezer and let it sit on the kitchen counter for 10 minutes before scooping and serving with some chocolate sprinkles and some fresh slices of bananas.

Storage

To store your leftover ice cream, simply transfer it into a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to a week. Any longer than that will make it lose it’s flavor and texture.

Tips & Variations

There are a lot of ways to ramp this ice cream up, you can add protein powder, peanut butter, any fruit you like, raisins, chocolate chips, chocolate chip cookies, nuts, and seeds.

Tips

Make sure to choose a good quality cottage cheese, I always use organic brands but my favorite is Alta Dena, I just love the taste.

You also want to make sure you always use frozen fruits instead of fresh fruits or else they will mess up the texture of the ice cream.

Can You Use Low Fat Cottage Cheese For Ice Cream?

Yes you can use low-fat cottage cheese for ice cream but it will alter the texture and make your ice cream icier instead of creamier. However, adding a liquid sweetener and letting the ice cream thaw for about ten minutes after removing it from the freezer will help give it a creamier texture.

Is Cottage Cheese Ice Cream Healthier Than Regular Ice Cream?

Absolutely! Cottage cheese will provide you with enough protein, calcium, vitamins and minerals to keep you satiated longer. However, using other high sugar or high calorie ingredients will increase your sugar and calorie intake making it less healthy.
