It’s common knowledge that fatty foods, processed foods, and foods that are high in sugar can cause weight gain and belly fat but you would be surprised to learn that even some healthy foods can lead to weight gain around your stomach as well.

Now before we get started it’s important to understand the causes of belly fat and the types of belly fat to help you decide if your diet is to blame. You see, besides the foods you eat, genetics and medical conditions like hormonal imbalance can also lead to fat accumulation in the stomach.
